Using the Great Outdoors

Outline of Training

This interactive half day course will involve participants in using the great outdoors to enhance their work with young people. The lead trainer on this course is Colin Laws who has extensive experience of running outdoor activities and education in his Youth Work profession and within his Scouting role. Colin is also a level 3 qualified Forest School practicitor. The training will give workers and volunteers the tools to run safe outdoor activities with young people. The activities are designed to build communication and listening skills and develop teamwork abilities. Participants could get the chance to use Kelly kettles, do outdoor cooking, build hammocks and so on.

Participants are expected to wear sensible footwear and clothing. Please dress suitably as some of the training will be outdoors.


All Participants receive the Above and Beyond Certificate of Attendance upon successfully completing the course.
