“Non formal learning is valid in its own right and provides an impressive list of benefits.

Non formal awards offer young people programmes of non-formal learning, characterised by a distinctive method, a curriculum-based content and a strong relationship between the young person and the youth worker. The awards have learning outcomes, clear content andassessment criteria. They take place in non-formal settings.

They also contribute to formal learning processes by supplementing, complementing, or providing an alternative curriculum.

In the best interests of the young people we work with, these
opportunities should not be missed.”

‘Awards for young people’ National Youth Agency, August 2010

  • Short Courses with a set programme and learning
  • Recognition of Learning Certificates
